Abstract
Medulloblastoma and primitive neuroectodermal tumor(PNET) are relatively common intracranial neoplasms in childhood. Their extracranial metastasis were thought to be rare occurrences. But they are more frequent compared to other intracranial tumors. The most frequent site of metastasis deposits in medulloblastoma is bone, and metastasis to lymph node, peritoneum, liver or lung have been reported infrequently. The authors experienced three cases of cerebellar brain tumors with bone metastasis, two were medulloblastomas and one, cerebellar PNET. They occurred 7,8 and 9 months after craniectomy and resection of tumor respectively. All cases were treated with postoperative craniospinal irradiation only. The first case died due to meningeal seeding 12 months after bone and bone marrow metastasis inspite of chemotherapy, the second was lost follow-up after recurrent bone metastasis during chemotherapy, and the third was on 7th cycles of ? drugs in one day?chemotherapy with clinical and radiological response.'
Key Words: Medulloblastoma, PNET, Bone Metastasis, Chemotherapy
